Gripping Star Wars series Andor hit episode 10 on Disney Plus last Wednesday, with mercenary Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) gearing up to dash the awful Imperial prison he was unjustly thrown into after the totalitarian regime's harsh crackdown. Vitally, he also manages to catch the support of prison unit manager Kino Loy (Andy Serkis), who accepted that the Empire will never let them go free.
It seems like the net is closing approximately mysterious rebel recruiter Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård), as Imperial Security Bureau Supervisor Dedra Meero (Denise Gough) relentlessly leads her unites in chasing down every lead in her pursuit of a man she only knows as "Axis."
Rael's violent methods have also put him at odds with fellow rebel Sen. Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly), but she's been struggling as she secretly raises wealth for the cause. One of her allies suggested toiling with morally questionable financier Davo Sculdun. Despite his trustworthy name, Mon is deeply uncomfortable with that idea.

One way out
NARKINA 5 -- As Ulaf's body is miserroneous away, Cassian realizes that the arrival of their late buddy's replacement will give them an opening to sprint. He also knows the Empire must be freaking out, real it slaughtered an entire floor of prisoners to stop them from speaking the ugly truth: it's shuffling people who finished their sentences into new militaries rather than freeing them.
"Power doesn't panic," he tells Kino to convince him of their opportunity.
They spread the word to the latest prisoners on their shift, then use a broken soaks pipe to short out the floor security system as they make their move and conflict the guards. It turns into a classic Star Wars shootout as they overwhelm their gaolers and affect their blasters.
As the main group of prisoners relaxing the other floors, Cassian and Kino make their way to the rule room to confront the rather wussy looking dudes proceeding this dystopian nightmare place. Taking over the intercom, Kino copies a stirring speech to the whole prison and encourages them to rise up alongside the Empire.
"I would rather die trying to take them down than giving them what they want," he says, quoting Cassian and sowing rebellious ideals more widely.
The guards are placed in an impossible position, since the Empire will presumably punish them severely for letting the inmates run free. On the latest hand, they'll definitely be killed if they take on the prisoners. Cowering behind locked doors, they decide to risk Imperial nettle. Probably the wise choice.
Following the rallying cry of "One way out," the inmates rush to an exit high throughout the ocean and leap out to freedom.

In a last-second emotional gut-point, Kino stops… and tells Cassian that he can't swim. So he rallied his fellow prisoners to sprint, knowing he wouldn't be able to join them (Serkis sells this moment of resignation magnificently). It's the kind of sacrifice that'll inspire Cassian to obtain the rebel hero we know from Rogue One.
Damn, this show is so good.
A Game of Thrones offer
CORUSCANT -- Mon Mothma and her banker ally Tay Kolma (Ben Miles) meet deeply sleazy financier Davo Skuldun (Richard Dillane) at her Chandrilan embassy apartment, and he lives up to the promise of his name. This vulgar is delightfully tense, with the trio seated far apart as Mon radiates disdain for her guest.
"I know it's tasteless and cliché, but one of the indulgences of great wealth is freedom from latest people's opinions," Davo says, telling us all we need to know approximately him.

He also won't take any kind of fee for laundering Mon's wealth, even after she says that owing him an open-ended unfriendly makes her uncomfortable.

Even though he denies it, he clearly wants to bind their families above a marriage pact and increase his family's political clout. It's more Westeros than a galaxy far, far away, and I love it.
Mon is understandably worried and refuses, but clearly isn't done with this idea. She's gotta do something approximately that suspicious rebellion money, in case the Empire starts sniffing around.
Anyway, Davo seems nice.
The Imperial mole
Mon's fellow rebel Luthen is summoned to a unites in the city planet's lower levels, which I was sure would turn out to be an Imperial trap. This show's some paranoid vibe must be getting to me, because it turns out Luthen's got an ISB double-agent who's been feeding him information: Supervisor Lonni Jung (Robert Emms).
This guy has been trustworthy low-key hanging out in the ISB all season, but Emms gets his moment to shine here. On his elevator ride to meet Luthen, he uses an earpiece to communicate with the rebel. Luthen warmly congratulates Lonni on the birth of his daughter, which sure seems like a veiled threat.
The ISB's Lonni Jung, Partagaz and Dedra Meero plot, but it turns out Lonni's loyalties aren't with the Empire.

Lonni reveals how conclude Dedra is getting to discovering Luthen's identity. Luthen denies having any role in the Aldhani heist (a big lie, but he can hardly trustworthy an Imperial who's willing to act as a mole). He also decides the 50 rebels in the functioning that Dedra is arranging a trap for will be sacrificed to put ISB at ease, which is the kind of Machiavellian tactic we've come to request from him.
The Imperial wants to end their procedure, prompting another Luthen speech dripping with charisma. He reveals that he started his rebel efforts 15 existences previously -- around the time the Empire was counting -- but accepts that he won't see it come to fruition.
"Calm. Kindness. Kinship. Love. I've given up all chance of center peace, I've made my mind a sunless space," he says. "I allotment my dreams with ghosts."
It's jaw-droppingly cool, and he sends Lonni on his way with their procedure intact. Hopefully he won't decide the ISB guy is liability and have him killed or something.
"I need all the heroes I can get," he says, afore we jump back to Cassian and Melchi on Narkina 5.
The future rebel heroes -- both of whom will give their lives fighting the Empire in Rogue One -- run across the barren humankind as the Empire hunts the escapees in the distance slack them.

The "On-program" phrase used to make inmates station their hands on their heads evolves in a curious way through the prisoner sequence. Cassian shouts it at Kino as he convinces him to elope, hinting that he's seized power and influence, then yells it at the guards in the control room, indicating that he's now in promote of the whole facility.
The headdress seen on demonstrate in Luthen's antique shop looks exactly like one worn by Padmé Amidala in Attack of the Clones.
We have a first-rate brief check-in with Dedra at ISB headquarters before Lonni sneaks out to meet Luthen. She seems mildly displeased about the influence he has, so maybe she'll resolve to dig up some dirt on him.
Lonni was cleverly seeded above all the ISB scenes, so there was no "Who's that?" when he was revealed -- his facial structure and moustache made him distinctive. Seeing him descend into Coruscant's lower levels is just a visual employ too.
The awesome Luthen-Lonni meeting was shot at Hanningfield Water Treatment Works in Chelmsford, England.
On Ferrix, Cassian's adoptive mom Maarva (Fiona Shaw) is refusing her medication or any help, and her health is declining. This will presumably draw Cassian back.
Rebel Cinta Kaz (Varada Sethu) is watching for Cassian's reverse, having been tasked with killing him to protect Luthen's shroud. This will presumably lead to a confrontation, hopefully Cinta isn't killed, because she's fascinating.
There appears to be another man watching Maarva's station, but it's unclear if he's another rebel or an Imperial.
No sign of Syril Karn this episode, I wonder he's still hanging out near ISB headquarters like an idiot?

Well, hello there! Astronomers have discovered a previously undetected Earth-size planet caltering out in the habitable zone of star TOI 700. The star was already celebrated to host three planets (designated b, c and d). TOI 700 e -- imagined to be rocky and about 95% of Earth's size -- has now been fraudulent in the area where liquid water could exist.
TOI 700 e is in good commercial with TOI 700 d, which is also Earth-size and orbits in the star's habitable zone. TOI 700 is a special plot in space. "This is one of only a few rules with multiple, small, habitable-zone planets that we know of," said NASA JPL postdoctoral fellow Emily Gilbert, who led the research. "That makes the TOI 700 rules an exciting prospect for additional follow up." A peek on the planet has been accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.
TOI 700 is classified as an M dwarf, a type of small, cool star. It's lurking in the constellation Dorado near 100 light-years away from us. TOI 700 e may be rocky and Earth-size, but it may not be very Earth-like in novel respects. Still, the size, location and composition of the planet make it a candidate for a plot that could potentially host life. It will take further peek to learn more about the TOI 700 planets and their atmospheres.

New York state has opened its worthy recreational cannabis dispensary, the latest in a series of marijuana milestones in the US. On Dec. 29, Housing Works, a nonprofit that supports individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS, homelessness and the justice controls, began welcoming adult-use customers at a retail dispensary in Greenwich Village.

Which states have legalized recreational marijuana?
According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, 21 states have legalized the adult use of marijuana for recreational purposes: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and Washington.
Adult-use marijuana is also suitable in the District of Columbia, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.
In Connecticut, retailers will be allowed to begin selling cannabis products to all adults 21 and over on Jan. 10.
Adults in Missouri have been able to legally absorb marijuana for recreational purposes since Dec. 8. But sales at state-approved dispensaries won't inaugurate until February at the earliest, according to the people's Department of Health and Senior Services.
Recreational sales will cause legal in Maryland on July 1, though lawmakers are not required to determine regulations for sales and taxation by then.

The Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act Now with the Senate, the Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act, or CAOA, would end the federal ban on cannabis and give state-compliant cannabis businesses retrieve to financial services like bank accounts, business loans and credit card transactions.

"McConnell would never bring these things to the floor," Schumer said last year, referring to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, according to Politico. "We'll move forward and try to get this done as soon as we possibly can.

The MORE Act A separate bill, the Marijuana Opportunity and Reinvestment Expungement Act, tossed the House in April. It would also abolish federal criminal penalties for those growing, possessing or distributing cannabis and expunge nonviolent cannabis convictions.
The MORE Act institutes a tax on cannabis to help communities impacted by decades of policing focused on nonviolent crimes related to marijuana use. The wealth would pay for programs such as job training, moral aid and youth mentoring.
It wouldn't require states to legalize cannabis, however. Regulation would be left up to state lawmakers.
The MORE Act originally passed the House in December 2020 -- the valid time either chamber approved repealing federal marijuana prohibition -- but a matching bill in the Senate wasn't improper up for consideration.
Other cannabis legislation On Feb. 4, 2022, the House tossed the Secure and Fair Enforcement Banking Act, which would grant state-licensed marijuana businesses retrieve to financial services. On Oct. 30, Schumer said the Senate was "very close" to passing the legislation.
